(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India directing respondent No. 2 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members at the hands of respondent No. 4-Paramjit Singh, ASI, i.e. the Investigating Officer.

In compliance to the order dated 23.8.2021, the State has filed the affidavit of Senior Superintendent of Police, District SAS Nagar, Mohali dated 03.9.2021, through e-mail. Copy of the same is taken on record. As per the affidavit, ASI Paramjit Singh-respondent No. 4, against whom the department enquiry is pending, stands transferred to Police Line, SAS Nagar vide order dated 30.8.2021. Keeping in view the above, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that this petition has become infructuous and the same may be disposed of as such.
