ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petitioner herein seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the candidature of the petitioner in the category of Economic Weaker Section (General) for the post of Multipurpose Health Worker (Female), as that selection process is yet not complete and in view of the public notice dated 31.10.2020 (Annexure P-5).

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is an eligible candidate for the post of Multipurpose Health Worker (Female) under the category of Economic Weaker Section (General). However, she could not apply in the said category as she did not get the requisite certificate from the competent authority due to COVlD-19 pandemic. Last date for filling the application form was initially fixed by the department as 31.08.2020. He further submits that the cut off marks in the category of Economic Weaker Section (General) are 37. The petitioner has secured 49 marks as against the requisite 37. In the premise, petitioner submitted a representation dated 30.10.2020 (Annexure P-8) to respondent No.3 but the SONU 2020.11.26 18:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
same has not been adverted by the respondents till date. Hence, the instant petition.

Mr. D.S.Shukarchakia, DAG, Punjab, who has joined proceedings on service of advance copy of the petition appears and accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State of Punjab.

Given the nature of order being passed, there is no necessity to seek return by any of the respondents as no further proceedings and/or pleadings are required.

Without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to look into the representation dated 30.10.2020 (Annexure P-8) and also by keeping in view the contentions stated in the present petition by treating the same as supplementary representation and decide the same by passing a speaking order, in accordance with law.

Let the needful be done within a period of 6 weeks from today. 8.
Disposed of accordingly.
