Through the instant petition, cast under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, a prayer is made made for issuance of a direction upon respondents no.3 to 6 to include petitioners no.1 to 25 (students of Class-X) in the list of candidates and to allow them to sit for their compartment examination alongwith All India Secondary School Examinations (Compartment)-XII, which to be held in the month of July, 2026.

On an advance notice, Mr. Beant Singh Seemar, Advocate, has caused appearance on behalf of respondents no.3 to 6-CBSE, and submits that the compartment examinations of Class-X is already over. Therefore, the prayer made in the instant writ petition cannot be considered, inasmuch as, the CBSE is not yet contemplating any separate DHARAM VIR 2026.05.30 12:51 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-17706-2026 -2examination for the students of Class-X, who could not apply at the relevant time.

Faced with the above, at this stage, learned senior counsel for the petitioners, restricts his prayer to the extent of passing a mandamus upon respondents no.3 to 6-CBSE to take a final decision on their representations (Annexures P-6 and P-8), wherethrough they have requested to grant them a golden chance by holding a separate examination for all those students, who are suffering on account of lapse of their respective school.

The aforesaid prayer is not opposed by learned counsel for respondents no.3 to 6 -CBSE, and submits that they would decide the representations (supra), as early as possible. 5.

In view of the above, the instant petition, at this stage, is disposed of, with a direction upon the respondents no.3 to 6-CBSE, to decide the representations (Annexures P-6 and P-8) of the petitioners, within a period of three weeks from the date of this order. 6.

Learned counsel for respondents no.3 to 6-CBSE, is directed to inform the competent authority of the CBSE, about the aforesaid direction of this Court.

Disposed of accordingly.

All pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of accordingly.
