The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus with a prayer for issuing direction to official respondents No.2 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of private respondents No.5 to 8.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that for redressal of his grievance, the petitioner has already filed representation dated 30.04.2026 (Annexure P-4) before the Director General of Police, Punjab, the Additional Director General of Police (Security), Phase 7, SAS Nagar and Senior Superintendent of Police, District Malerkotla, however, no action has been taken on the same till date.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case and in view of the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Malerkotla, to decide the representation dated 30.04.2026 (Annexure P-4) filed by the petitioner, qua threat perception in accordance with law within a period of one month from today and grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner, is perceived.

It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by him.
