The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, for issuing a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to release the arrears of subsistence allowance from April 2022 along with consequential retiral/pensionary benefits with 18% interest p.a. (2).

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he will be satisfied in case a direction is issued to the respondent to decide the representation dated 30.04.2026 (Annexure P9).

Mr. Anil Chawla, Sr.Panel Counsel, UOI having served with an advance copy of the petition, has put in appearance on behalf of respondents and assures the Court that the above-said representation will be decided within a time bound manner.

Without adverting to the merits of the case, the respondent No.2 is directed to decide the representation dated 30.04.2026 (Annexure P9), within a period of 8 weeks from today, after providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. A copy of speaking order so passed be supplied to the petitioner within one week thereafter.
