The instant petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the service rendered by husband of the petitioner, who is stated to have expired on 25.1.2019, as 'SPO' as qualifying service for the purpose of pensionary/retiral benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the case of husband of the petitioner is squarely covered by various judgments of this Court including judgment rendered in CWP-9936-2017 titled as Sukhjeet Singh and others Vs. The State of Punjab and others.

In view of the aforesaid submission, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - The Director General of Police, Punjab, to consider and dispose of legal notice dated 8.2.2023 (Annexure P-10) in accordance with law and the settled position of law expeditiously preferably within a period of 3 months from today.

A copy of this order along with copy of legal notice dated 8.2.2023 (Annexure P-10) be sent to respondent No.2 - The Director General of Police, Punjab for necessary compliance.
