The instant petition is for quashing of FIR No.85 dated 11.07.2024 under Sections 333, 351(2), 351(3), 115(2), 191(3) and 190 of BNS, 2023 registered at Police Station City Patti, Police District Tarn Taran, and all consequential proceedings arising out of the same, on the basis of compromise (Annexure P-2) arrived at, between the parties. 2.
Learned counsel for respondent No.2 confirms the factum of the compromise having been effected between the parties and states that respondent No.2 has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question. 3.
In that view of the matter, even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the MOHIT 2025.03.01 15:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment
CRM-M-35367-2024 (O&M) time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage. 4.
Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No.85 dated 11.07.2024 under Sections 333, 351(2), 351(3), 115(2), 191(3) and 190 of BNS, 2023 registered at Police Station City Patti, Police District Tarn Taran, and all other consequential proceedings arising therefrom shall stand quashed.
