Learned State counsel has filed status report by way of affidavit of Mandeep Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (Central), Ludhiana. Same is taken on record. Paras 2 & 3 thereof reads as under:- "2. It is further submitted that the perusal of the record reveals that one order dated 24/08/2017 was promulgated by respondent No. 2 Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana regarding the prohibition of culling of the animals on the auspicious occasion of Jai Maha Parav Samvatsri falling on 26/08/2017, keeping in view the religious sentiments of the Jain Sabha. This order was promulgated u/s 144 Cr.P.C. in pursuance to the joint representation of the Punjab State Sh. Jain Shawetambar Terapanthi Sabha dated 31/07/2017 received in the office of respondent No. 2 on 02/08/2017.

This order remained in operation only for one day and its operation has automatically comes to an end after 26/08/2017. Keeping in view the aversions made in the petition, the promulgation of such kind of orders has now been discontinued in future. The answering deponent also undertakes to submit a detailed reply of the Ajay Kumar 2017.12.05 15:35 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document aforementioned petition, if so desired by this Hon'ble Court.

The answering deponent always hold the Hon'ble High Court in high esteem and considers his first and foremost duty to comply with the directions passed by the Hon'ble Court from time to time."
