The prayer made in the petition in hand reads thus: 'It is therefore respectfully prayed that this petition may kindly be allowed and an appropriate order, writ or direction may kindly be issued to transfer the enquiry/investigation of case FIR No.110 dated 30.5.2022 registered at P.S. Division No.7, Police Commssionerate, Jalandhar U/s 306/34 IPC (Annexure P-1) to some agency outside the State of Punjab and preferably to C.B.I. as the said FIR is against the high police officials of Punjab Police and inspite of specific evidence in the shape of videos/audio recordings as well as the statements of the witnesses, a biased enquiry is being conducted by destroying the evidence, just to save the culprits who are high police officials in Punjab Police, in the interest of justice.'

State having been called upon; has filed a status report dated 16.7.2025, relevant whereof reads thus:

'That it is submitted that the cancellation report in the aforesaid FIR has been file in the Ld. Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jalandhar on 27.2.2023. However, the same is still pending for consideration. Now the Ashwani Kumar 2025.07.22 09:55 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Having heard learned counsel for the rival parties and upon perusal of the record, especially keeping in view the cancellation report having been submitted before the concerned Magisterial Court, still pending adjudication, this Court does not deem it appropriate to exercise inherent powers under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. The petition is accordingly dismissed.
