Advocate General, Punjab. **** SHEEL NAGU, CHIEF JUSTICE (Oral) The petitioner apprehends his arrest in respect of offence punishable under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in FIR No. 29 dated 09.05.2025 registered at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, District Patiala.

In the present case, there is an allegation that a demand of Rs.20000/- as bribe was made by the petitioner, pursuant to which the aforesaid FIR was lodged against him. The investigation in the matter is still pending. The prosecution is unable to conclude the investigation in the absence of the petitioner coming forward to give his voice sample. 3.

Considering totality of the circumstances and the factual matrix of the case and in the absence of any criminal antecedents, this Court extends the benefit of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, who happens to be Assistant Lineman with PSPCL Department at Patran Division, Punjab, subject to his furnishing personal bonds for a sum of RAVINDER KUMAR 2025.06.13 13:41 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M No. 32361 of 2025 (O&M) [2] Rs.50000/- with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of Arresting/Investigating Officer. However, the petitioner shall join investigation as and when called upon to do so and cooperate with the Arresting/Investigating Officer and shall abide by the conditions as provided under Section 482(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. In case the petitioner does not join the investigation, the State is free to move an application for cancellation of his bail. 4.

 $  ii) During monsoon season, the petitioner shall also plant 10 saplings of indigenous plants at a public place and submit proof in that regard by way of photographs before the concerned Police Station where the FIR has been registered within a period of 15 days and if there is no such intimation submitted or intimation is found to be incorrect, then the State can move an application for cancellation of his bail. 5.

In case the petitioner fails to comply with any of the aforesaid two conditions, then the learned Court below is free to issue arrest warrant against the petitioner provided this Court is kept informed. 6.
