Advocate General, Punjab. **** SHEEL NAGU, CHIEF JUSTICE (Oral) The petitioner apprehends her arrest in respect of offence punishable under Sections 21(b), 25, 27 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in FIR No.55 dated 03.04.2025 registered at Police Station Bhikhi, District Mansa.

Though no recovery has been made from the petitioner but recovery of 50 grams of Heroine was made from co-accused Laddi Singh and Kashmir Singh, who both in their disclosure statements disclosed the name of the petitioner as a supplier.

The instances of women and children being used as a carrier and supplier for narcotic drugs is on the rise especially in the State of Punjab and therefore, the contention of learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner is a woman aged about 31 years and has been implicated based on disclosure statements made by co-accused does not find favour with this Court. CRM-M No. 32383 of 2025 (O&M) [2] the petitioner also has criminal antecedents where trial under the Excise Act is underway against the petitioner where 24 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused. 4.

The possibility of further drug being recovered from the petitioner as and when she is arrested, cannot be ruled out. 5.

Accordingly, this Court in view of the above, is not inclined to grant interim anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 6.

The petition stands dismissed.
