MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition is for quashing of FIR No.19 dated 15.02.2023 under Section 420 of the IPC registered at Police Station Division 3, District Police Commissionerate Ludhiana, and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom on the basis of compromise dated 13.07.2023 (Annexure P-2).

As per report received from the learned trial Court, the parties did not appear to get their respective statements recorded with respect to the compromise so arrived at between them. However, learned counsel for the parties submit that they did appear before the trial Court on 08.01.2024 and after noticing that the parties had arrived at an amicable settlement, the Court while exercising its powers under Section 320 of the Cr.P.C. had compounded the offences. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in the circumstances, the instant petition has been rendered infructuous. Learned counsel appearing for the complainant has not disputed the submissions made by the counsel opposite and has also submitted that in view of the matter having been compounded by the learned JMIC, Ludhiana, the instant petition has thus, been rendered infructuous.
