The present petition has been filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of certiorari, for quashing the order dated 22.11.2024 (Annexure P-1), passed by respondent No.2. Further, a writ of mandamus has been sought for directing the respondents to grant an opportunity to the petitioners to participate in the selection process of selecting the vacant stations falling in their respective districts and allot them new stations on the same terms and conditions from the date of initial joining with all consequential reliefs before finalizing the promotion process. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that for redressal of their grievances, the petitioners have also made a representation dated 18.5.2026 (Annexure P-7) to the respondents which is still pending consideration. She further submits that at this stage, the petitioners would be satisfied, if appropriate directions are issued to the respondents to consider and decide the said representation, VINAY 2026.05.29 18:07 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

On receipt of advance copy, Mr. Swapan Shorey, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. He has no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the representation dated 18.5.2026 (Annexure P-7) submitted by the petitioners expeditiously, by passing a speaking order after affording an opportunity of hearing to them, preferably within a period of 06 weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
