Issuance of a writ of habeas corpus is prayed for by the petitioner on account of the alleged illegal detention of his brother, namely Gurlabh Singh by the district police of Sri Muktsar Sahib. 2.

On the request of the learned counsel representing the petitioner, the learned State counsel was requested to take instructions. 3.

After some time, the learned State counsel has informed the Court that Gurlabh Singh has been ordered to be kept in custody by the Sub Divisional Magistrate under Sections 126/170 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita Act, 2023.
