(ORAL) The instant writ petition has been filed seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents authorities to issue an appointment letter to the petitioner for the post of Craft Instructor (English Teacher) pursuant to an advertisement that had been issued on 15.02.2013 in which the selection process had been concluded. It is contended that the petitioner stood at serial No. 3 in the merit list against one post reserved for Scheduled Caste. Since candidates at serial Nos. 1 & 2 had refused to join, it became incumbent upon the authorities to offer the said post to the next person in the list i.e. the petitioner.

The matter has been taken up today and learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-State filed an affidavit of Additional Director (I.T.) Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training Punjab to the effect that the petitioner has been issued appointment letter as Satyawan 2017.04.07 14:09 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh
