(Oral) In the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondents to consider and decide the representation dated 14.05.2026 (Annexure P-5), whereby the petitioner has claimed regularization of her service w.e.f. the date the service of similarly situated persons was regularized.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the service of other similarly situated persons was regularized w.e.f. the year 2009, whereas the service of the petitioner was regularized in the year 2012.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that the petitioner will be satisfied, if a direction is given to respondent No.2 to decide the representation dated 14.05.2026 (Annexure P-5) submitted by the petitioner in a time-bound manner.

Mr. Rohit Ahuja, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. He submits that the present writ petition is liable to be dismissed on the ground of delay and laches, as the cause of action accrued to the petitioner in the year 2009, when the service of other similarly situated person was regularized. 6.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties at length and perused the record.

It is well settled law that a claim pertaining to regularization constitutes a recurring cause of action. 8.

Taking into consideration the abovesaid facts and without commenting upon the merits of the case, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider and decide the representation dated 14.05.2026 (Annexure P-5), submitted by the petitioner, in accordance with law, within a period of 06 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 9.

Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand(s) disposed of.
