(ORAL ) The present petition has been filed under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for grant of anticipatory bail in FIR No.153 dated 18.10.2020, under Section 61 and 78 of the Excise Act, 1914, registered at Police Station Raman, District Bathinda. The allegations in the FIR are that there was recovery of 36 bottles of liquor from Manpreet Singh and on the basis of disclosure statement made before the police, the present petitioner was nominated. On 24.11.2020, interim protection was granted to the petitioner and he was directed to join investigation and to abide by the conditions contained in Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C. CRM-M-38744-2020 (O&M) Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Mander Singh, has submitted that in pursuance of the aforesaid orders, the petitioner has joined investigation and has fully cooperated with the investigation process. He has further submitted that the petitioner is not required for custodial investigation.

In view of the above stand taken by the learned State counsel, the present petition is allowed. Interim order dated 24.11.2020, is hereby made absolute.
