In the present petition, the grievance of the petitioners is that the petitioners, who belong to Electrical cadre and are working as Junior Engineer, are not being considered for promotion to the post of SDE, which is arbitrary and illegal.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the respondent be directed to consider the claim of the petitioners, who are working as Junior Engineer (Electrical) for promotion to the post of Sub Divisional Engineer. 3.

Notice of motion.

Mr. T.P.S.Chawla, Sr. DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from Pawan Kumar, Sr. Assistant of concerned department, submits that as and when decision is taken for promotion to the post of Sub Divisional Engineer from the cadre of Junior Engineer (Electrical) by the competent authorities, all eligible SONIA BURA 2025.07.04 12:45 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-17377-2025(O&M) candidates from the cadre of JE (Electrical) will be considered keeping in view the number of vacancies and their eligibility as per rules governing the service.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the statement made by State counsel he does not press the present petition. 7.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of having not been pressed any further.

Any civil miscellaneous application pending, if any, also stands disposed of.

CM-9148-2025 Learned counsel for the applicant submits that he does not press the application for impleadment and the same be disposed of. Ordered accordingly.
