Coram:

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain

Present:

Ms. Gurjeet Kaur, Advocate, for the petitioner.

***** Rakesh Kumar Jain, J. (Oral) The petitioner is suffering life imprisonment in Central Jail, Ludhiana. He is already on parole from 07.08.2018 to 19.09.2018 and has now prayed for extension of parole to attend the last rites of his nepehw Satbir Singh, who had allegedly expired on 09.09.2018. According to the petitioner, the last rites of deceased Satbir Singh are to be held on 20.09.2018.

After hearing learned counsel for the petitioner and examining the available record, I am of the considered opinion that since the petitioner has to surrender on 19.09.2018 and the present petition has come up for hearing today, i.e. 20.09.2018 and even by this time, the last rites of the deceased must have been performed, therefore, there is no ground for interference in this petition.

Dismissed.
