The present petition has been filed under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (for short - 'the BNSS') for grant of interim regular bail to the petitioner in case bearing FIR No.570 dated 11.12.2025, under Sections 21 and 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short - 'the NDPS Act') (offence under Section 29 of the NDPS Act added later on) registered at Police Station City Barnala, District Barnala. 2.

The ground taken by the petitioner is that his wife is at advance stage of pregnancy and her delivery is due for 28.06.2026. 3.

On issuing notice, learned State counsel has filed short report/verification report dated 02.06.2026 today in the Court. The same is taken on record.

CRM-M-31939-2026 (O&M) being admitted in Bansal Hospital Akalsar Road, Moga, wife of the petitioner has given birth to twin babies on 31.05.2026.

In view of the above, present petition is allowed. Petitioner is ordered to be released on interim bail for a period of two months subject to his furnishing bail/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the learned trial Court/ Chief Judicial Magistrate/ Illaqa Magistrate/ Duty Magistrate concerned, if not required in any other case. He shall surrender to the jail authorities on 05.08.2026 by 5.00 p.m.
