Both the petitioners belong to Ex-servicemen category as also the Scheduled Caste category. They had competed for appointment as Constable in the cadre of EXSM (SC) and after the selection process was completed, they secured 24 marks each in their category. Grievance of the petitioners in the present petition is that candidates belonging to their category and having lesser marks i.e. 22 and 23 have been issued appointment letters whereas petitioners have been denied appointment.

At the time of hearing counsel for the petitioners very fairly states that in response to Legal Notice dated 23.8.2018 (P-8) issued on behalf of the petitioners, a response dated 23.10.2018 has been received from the office of DGP Punjab indicating that claim of the petitioners is under active consideration.

In view of the above, present petition is disposed of as not RAJINDER PARSHAD JOSHI 2018.11.14 16:08 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
