The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents No.1 & 2 to take action against respondent No.3-Deepak Kumar, Assistant Transport Officer, Ludhiana for demanding bribe to reduce the amount of challan. It is also seeking initiation of inquiry against respondent No.3 as well as preservation of office records and other evidence pertaining to incident dated 23.05.2026. 2.

The petitioner is a proprietorship concern operating under the name and style of 'Armaan Tour & Travels'. It on 23.05.2026 was ferrying a group of tourists in its bus bearing Registration No.NL 02 B 3777 from Jammu to Delhi. It was in possession of All India Tourist Permit valid till 19.06.2026.

Respondent No.3-Assistant Transport Officer despite availability of All India Permit issued a challan dated 23.05.2026 of ₹50,000/- alleging non-payment of Punjab State Tax. The petitioner on 25.05.2026 approached respondent No.3 for settlement of aforesaid challan. Respondent No.3 demanded ₹25,000/- in cash in order to reduce the challan MOHIT KUMAR 2026.05.29 15:41 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment.

CWP-18013-2026 -2amount which was acceded to. It filed representation dated 25.05.2026 to respondent-Authorities alleging issuance of false challans and demand of illegal gratification by respondent No.3 but the same has not been addressed till date.

Learned State counsel submits that respondent No.3-State Transport Commissioner would look into the matter and take an appropriate decision, if any substance is found in petitioner's claim. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
