The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking setting aside of order dated 24.12.2015 (Annexure P-14) whereby their claim for promotion as Head Constable from the date of passing Lower School Course has been declined. 2.

Learned State counsel, at the outset, submits that as per affidavit dated 09.08.2022 of Harmeet Singh Hundal, PPS, Assistant Inspector General, Govt. Railway Police, Punjab, Patiala, the petitioners have already been promoted and granted revised date of promotion as Head Constable, thus, the present petition has renderd infructuous. 3.

Faced with this, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that grievance of all the petitioners except petitioners No.3 and 6 stands redressed. The respondents may be directed to re-consider case of petitioner No.3 (ASI Gurbhej Singh No. 848/GRP) and petitioner No.6 (ASI Kuldeep Singh No.1095/GRP).

In the wake of statement of both sides, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondent to re-consider case of petitioners No.3 and 6. Needful shall be done within three months from today.
