(Oral) The present petition has been filed inter alia seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing the respondents to appoint an administrator of Gram Panchayat, Village Alial, District Pathankot and to take action against the Sarpanch for doing work against the interest of Gram Panchayat and also for permitting the encroacher to raise construction. 1.1 A further prayer has been made for marking an inquiry against the Sarpanch as to how and in what circumstances, he had withdrawn the Civil Suit.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from Ms. Parminder Kaur, Assistant Director, Complaints, Rural Development Panchayat, informs the Court that on the basis of the complaints received against the Sarpanch, an explanation shall be called from the Sarpanch within a period of three weeks from today and if the circumstances so warrant, the matter would be inquired into by the concerned authorities.
