***** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) Due to prevailing situation of COVID-19, matter has been heard through Video Conferencing.

Petitioners have sought a writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondents to decide their legal notices, Annexure P-19 and P-20 as per law. They place reliance upon a judgment titled as 'Balwinder Singh versus State of Punjab and others' (CWP-9291-2006 decided on 23.11.2006)'. In view of same, they seek refund of Motor Vehicles Tax and Penalty levied for the period when the petitioners were not having such carriage permit and claim that they were not operating during the said period.

At the outset, learned State counsel submits that legal notices, Annexure P-19 & P-20 shall be considered and a speaking order shall be passed at the earliest by the competent authority in any case, not later than two months. Learned counsel for the petitioner is satisfied with this statement.

In view of the above, no further adjudication of the matter is necessary. Petition is hereby disposed of.
