**** RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J. (Oral) The case has been taken up for hearing through video conferencing.

Petitioner has preferred this petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.1 to 3 to conduct a fair and impartial enquiry against respondent No.4 on the basis of complaint dated 18.05.2021 filed by the petitioner.

On 25.10.2021, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that complaint dated 18.05.2021 is still pending

-2before the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana after being assigned by the Principal Secretary, Department of Revenue i.e. respondent No.2. The enquiry was to be conducted within a time bound manner in view of directions issued by Principal Secretary, Department of Revenue. On that date, learned State counsel sought time to file status report in respect of pending enquiry before respondent No.3.

On 11.11.2021, status report by way of affidavit of Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana was filed. Complaint dated 18.05.2021 was assigned to the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana by the Principal Secretary, Department of Revenue. The Deputy Commission had further assigned the same for the purpose of conducting enquiry to the Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) Ludhiana West.

Today, learned State counsel has filed affidavit of the Deputy Commissioner along with enquiry report dated 25.11.2021 conducted by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ludhiana (West).

Learned State counsel submits that the said enquiry report has been sent to the concerned quarter for appropriate action.

At this stage, this writ petition is disposed of, however with a liberty to the petitioner that in case anything survives after
