The present petition has been filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to grant the statutory pay scale to the petitioners as per 2009 Rules (Annexure P-7) i.e. Rs.5910-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs.2000/- later on increased to 10300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs.3200/-, vide letter dated 23.12.2011 (Annexure P-8) with further pay revisions from entry into service along with arrears and interest @ 12% thereon in view of the judgment of this Court in CWP No.15896 of 2023 titled as 'Dr. Saurabh Sharma and others v. State of Punjab and another' and to grant allowances/full pay along with all other emoluments etc. to the petitioners during probation period from the date of their appointment in view of the judgment of this Court in CWP No.17064 of 2017 titled as 'Ajay Kumar Singla and others v. State of Punjab and others'.

CWP-18172-2026 -2redressal of their grievances, the petitioners have also made a representation dated 05.02.2026 (Annexure P-14) to the respondents which is still pending consideration. He further submits that at this stage, the petitioners would be satisfied, if appropriate directions are issued to the respondents to consider and decide the said representation, by passing a speaking order, in a time bound manner. 3.

Notice of motion restricted to official respondents only. 4.

On receipt of advance copy, Mr. Swapan Shorey, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents. He has no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4 to decide representation dated 05.02.2026 (Annexure P-14) submitted by the petitioners expeditiously, by passing a speaking order after affording an opportunity of hearing to them, preferably within a period of 04 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
