Whether the judgment should be reported in the digest ? -.- -.- KULDIP SINGH J. (ORAL) The petitioner retired as Inspector from Municipal Council, Ropar, on 31.8.2015.

The learned counsel for the petitioner has stated that the pension was released on 21.1.2016, whereas other dues were released on 6.7.2016 i.e. after the delay. The claim surviving for consideration is only for payment of interest on the delayed payments. I have heard the learned counsels for the parties and have also carefully gone through the file.

Admittedly, the pension and other papers were to be submitted within time. The date of retirement of the petitioner is 31.8.2015. Therefore, effective from 1.12.2015, the respondent-Municipal Council, Ropar, shall pay interest to the petitioner at the rate of 9% per annum on the

CWP No. 5167 of 2016 (O/M) -2delayed payments till actual payment was released i.e. 6.7.2016. The present writ petition is allowed.
