**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the only endeavour sought to be achieved in the present petition, is to recognize the services rendered by late Sh. Om Parkash @ Chattar Singh, as a freedom fighter, so that for the services he had rendered he could be granted the admissible benefits, whereas as per the policy issued, such recognition can only be given in case a freedom fighter is alive. Learned counsel further submits that the efforts in the present petition which were being taken by the wife of Om Parkash @ Chattar Singh was to get recognition for her husband for the service he rendered as a freedom fighter and though, she has also left the world, the same is being pursued by the legal heirs. 2.

It may be noticed that the freedom fighters participated in freedom struggle due to their passion and love for the country, and not for recognition. Such recognition was only given by general public as the acts of such freedom fighter who gave everything for the freedom of this country are rare, brave and totally KUMARI SAPNA 2026.05.06 14.41 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
