The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India with the prayer for issuance of a writ in the nature of Certiorari/Mandamus, directing the Respondents to decide the Representation dated 04.02.2026 (Annexure P-7) & reminder representation dated 19.03.2026 (Annexure P-9) for claim for compassionate Appointment in accordance with applicable policy by passing a speaking order within a stipulated period of time.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case, respondent No. 2 - Director General, Punjab Home Guards & Civil Defence Punjab, is directed to decide the Representation dated 04.02.2026 (Annexure P-7) & reminder representation dated 19.03.2026 (Annexure P-9) after providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and by passing a speaking order within a period of eight weeks from today, and a copy of the said speaking order shall be supplied to the petitioner within one week thereafter.
