(ORAL) By way of present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of impugned order dated 20.11.2020 (Annexure P-5), whereby he has been transferred from Government Industrial Training Institute, Barwala to Government Industrial Training Institute (Women), Thandi Sadak, Hisar, which is in violation of the Policies dated 07.04.1989 and 24.07.2018 (Annexures P-1 and P-2).

Ms. Ranjana Shahi, Additional A.G., Haryana who has joined proceedings on service of advance copy of the petition appears and opposes the issuance of notice and submits that vide order dated 20.11.2020, which is under challenge before this Court, the petitioner has been transferred from one institute to other, which is merely 5 kms apart. 3.

On a query of the Court, learned counsel for the petitioner does not controvert the same.

Transfer being matters of administrative exigencies, this Court generally interferes, if at all, very cautiously, in case of extreme hardship SONU 2020.11.26 18:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

only. Transfer is not a punishment but an essential aspect of service, particularly on a transferable post.

In the present case, the impugned transfer order dated 20.11.2020 (Annexure P-5) does not call for any interference, so as to exercise extraordinary writ jurisdiction, vested under Article 226 of Constitution of India.
