The petitioner seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus so as to release the detenues namely Sagar Soni (husband of the petitioner), her sister-in-law Subhash and neighbour Dinesh Kumar, who are alleged to have been illegally detained by respondents No.3 and 4 at the instance of respondent no.5.

Pursuant to order dated 25.7.2024 passed by this Court, a Warrant Officer was appointed and who went to the nominated place. The report of Warrant Officer reads as under:

"I left Chandigarh at 7.00 pm on 27.07.2024 along with petitioner and one Rekha an associate of the petitioner. We reached Police Chowki Jeevan Nagar, District Ludhiana at 1.45 pm. ASI Rupinder Singh was present there. After disclosing the identity and purpose of Pankaj Kakkar 2024.07.30 17:32 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CRWP-7166-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) visit, I along with petitioner and his associate searched each and every corner of Police Chowki but detenues Dinesh Kumar, Sagar Soni and Subhash were not found there. On asking ASI told that these persons are neither in their custody nor required in any case. Statement of petitioner was recorded in which she states that she does not want to carry out search at any other place as she does not know any other place."

In view of the aforestated position, wherein neither the alleged detenues were found and even the petitioner has made a statement that she does not wish any other place to be searched, no further direction is required to be passed in the present case. The instant petition is rendered infructuous and is disposed off as such.
