(ORAL) Vide this petition, the petitioner seeks issuance of a writ directing the respondents to pay interest earned by them on the excess/surplus deposited amount (Rs.4,37,108/- on 29.11.2011 + Rs.8,17,632/- on 25.04.2012= Total Rs.12,54,740/-), retained by the respondents in their fixed deposit since 2011 and then refunded after 5-6 years.
An affidavit has been filed by the Chief Accounts Officer of the Chandigarh Housing Board, annexing therewith a calculation sheet as regards the DINESH 2022.04.21 13:20 I attest to the accuracy of this document
-2interest earned by the Board on the excess amount inadvertently deposited by the petitioner.
for the petitioner submits that he accepts the said calculation sheet and that the amount may therefore be paid to the petitioner within a specified period.
This petition is consequently disposed of with a direction to the respondents to pay the amount due as per the calculation sheet, within a period of one month
