RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Petitioner has approached this Court praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing of order dated 01.04.2014, Annexure P-12, passed by Financial Commissioner, Cooperation, Punjab, respondent No.1. It is further prayed that order dated 20.03.2003, Annexure P-9, whereby the petitioner was appointed as Lambardar of the village be upheld.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions, has submitted before this Court that Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, has already removed respondent No.4, who is now shifted abroad, from the post of Lambardar vide its order dated 07.05.2024. He has placed on record a copy of order dated 07.05.2024. He further submits that fresh process for appointment of Lambardar has been initiated and the same will be MEENU 2024.05.15 13:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document concluded expeditiously.

CWP-65-2015 -2After hearing learned counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3, i.e. District Collector, to complete the process for appointment of Lambardar expeditiously in accordance with law preferably within three months from the date of receipt of this order. Office is directed to send a copy of this order to the concerned Collector forthwith who on receipt of the same proceed with the matter as per law.
