**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. The petitioner seeks regular bail in FIR No. 182 dated 03.10.2020 under Sections 307, 353, 332, 186, 148 and 149 IPC registered at Police Station Nihal Singh Wala, District Moga. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that no specific injury has been attributed to the petitioner and he has been behind bars since 07.10.2020. He further submits that five co-accused i.e. Shamsher Singh and others have been granted anticipatory bail by the Co-ordinate Bench of this Court on 29.10.2020 and the main accused, namely, Parminder Singh, who has been attributed injury under Section 307 IPC, has been in custody. Learned State counsel points out that the present FIR was registered on the complaint of Constable Surinder Singh as when they raided the house, brickbats were given to them from the rooftop of the GURPREET SINGH 2020.12.02 17:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chadigarh

I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned State counsel.

In the present case, no specific injury has been attributed to the petitioner. Moreover, the similarly situated co-accused have been granted anticipatory bail by the Co-ordinate Bench of this Court. The petitioner has been in custody since 07.10.2020. The trial will take time to conclude because of Covid-19 pandemic. No useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind the bars.

Without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the petition is allowed and the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his furnishing bail/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Duty Magistrate.
