(Oral) The precise grievance of the petitioners before this Court is that vide advertisement dated 06.10.2015, posts of Clerk/Steno Typists/L.D.C were advertised by the department but while advertising the post of Steno-Typist, a condition was imposed that the candidates have to appear in the written test which contains the subject Mathematics/Statistics consisting of 70 marks and the candidates who will qualify the same, will be allowed to appear in the Stenography test, which otherwise should be the main test.

Earlier there was no written test for the selection of StenoTypist in Chandigarh Administration. Earlier the selection of StenoTypist was done only be conducting stenography test and interview. The GAURAV ARORA 2016.05.06 15:56 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

C.W.P No. 5845 of 2016 -2exam of stenography test itself is a very tough task. Further, this time D.H.E is conducting the said recruitment process for the first time in Chandigarh Administration and is not aware with the process, which is sued to conduct the exam of Steno-Typist.

A detailed representation dated 03.02.2016 (P-4) in this regard has been given to the respondents, but no action has been taken till date.

Learned counsel for the petitioners states, that at this stage, the petitioners will be satisfied, if directions are issued to respondents to decide the representation, referred to above. In view of above, without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No. 1 to decide the representation dated 03.02.2016 (P-4) of the petitioners by passing a speaking order, in accordance with Rules/law.
