(Oral) In compliance to the order dated 31.08.2022, learned State counsel has filed the status report dated 21.11.2022, by way of an affidavit of Sanjeev Kumar, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ajnala, Amritsar Rural, on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 (State), which is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. Office to tag the same at appropriate place. Relevant paragraphs of the said status report says as under:- "8.

That it is submitted that Navneet Kaur daughter of the petitioner was produced before the Court of learned Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Ajnala on the same day i.e. 09/09/2022 and her statement under Section 164 Cr.P.C. was recorded by the Ld. Magistrate, wherein she repeated the aforementioned facts, which were stated in her statement (Annexure R-1/T) by Navneet Kaur. 9.

That it is respectfully submitted that in view of the above submissions, it is evident that as per statement of Navneet Kaur (alleged detenue) is about 20 years old major girl. She with her own wish had eloped with Karanjit Singh-respondent no. 4. Navneet Kaur has stated that she with her own wish has solemnized marriage with Karanjit Singh-respondent no. 4. It has also been stated by Navneet, Kaur that she does not want to meet her parents and other family members. Therefore, further action will be taken in the aforesaid JAWALA RAM 2022.11.22 18:14 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-8363-2022 - 2 - case/FIR No.162, dated 28.07.2022, under Section 363, 366 IPC, Police Station Ajnala, Amritsar Rural in accordance with law. The aforesaid case is under investigation.

Present Status Report is submitted for the kind consideration of this Hon'ble Court."

In view of stand taken in the status report, and the stand taken by alleged detenue 'Navneet Kaur' in her statement, which is annexed as Annexure R-1/T along with the status report, counsel for the petitioner submits that he does not wish to press for the prayer made in the present petition.

Dismissed as not pressed.
