***** JASPAL SINGH, J (ORAL) By virtue of instant petition preferred under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioner has sought issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant family pension, along with interest @ 18% per annum, on account of death of her husband-Gopal Singh, while on duty.

At the very outset, it has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that though representations dated 16.03.2016 and 25.05.2017 (Annexure P-10) were moved to the respondents but till date no conscious decision has been taken. He submits that petitioner feels satisfied in case a direction is issued to the respondents to consider and decide representations (Annexure P-10), within a stipulated period 3.

CWP No. 27248 of 2017 --2-- respondent No.2-The Director General of Police, Punjab Police, Chandigarh to look into the grievances unfolded by the petitioner in her representations (Annexure P-10) and to decide the same in accordance with Rules and Instructions as well as in view of judgment passed by this Court in CWP No.2371 of 2010, captioned as "Harbans Lal v. State of Punjab and others" decided on 31.08.2010, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

However, if the petitioner still feels aggrieved of the order passed by the concerned authority, she shall be at liberty to approach this Court.
