By this petition, the petitioner seeks issuance of appropriate directions to the respondents to provide him adequate security as he is "having threats of life at the hands of terrorist groups/activists being a victim family member of 1984s' Sikh riots".

He further seeks a direction to respondents no.2 and 3 to take a decision on his representation (copy Annexure P-2), at the earliest. In respect of his grievance, the petitioner is stated to have made a representation to the SSP, Police District Batala, (respondent no.3), a copy of which has been annexed as Anenxure P-2 with the petition.
