JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (ORAL ) Petitioner No.1 (girl) is of the age of 22 years whereas petitioner No.2 (boy) is aged 20 years. It is averred that the petitioners are in love each other and and want to solemnise marriage. It is further averred that at present they are residing in live-in-relationship as petitioner No.2 has not attained the marriageable age as per law. It is further averred that family of petitioner No.1 is opposed to the relationship and therefore, the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life and liberty at the hands of private respondents Nos.4 to 6.

CRWP-9953-2021 (O&M) scope of the present petition pertains only to the protection of lives of the petitioners. He has submitted that the petitioners have submitted a representation (Annexure P-3) dated 11.10.2021, to the Superintendent of Police, District Panipat, but no action has been taken on the same. Heard. Record perused.

Notice of motion to respondent Nos.1, 2 and 3 only. Mr.Deepak Manchanda, Addl. A.G. Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of the aforesaid respondents. Copy stands supplied. This Court does not wish to make any observations with regard to the validity of inter se relationship between the petitioners. However, since both the petitioners are stated to be residing in live-in relationship, the scope of present petition pertains only to protection of their lives.

This petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - the Superintendent of Police, District Panipat, that representation (Annexure P-3) filed seeking protection of life and liberty, be looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for ensuring the protection of life of the petitioners.
