There is a dispute between the petitioners-proprietors and respondent No.4-Gram Panchayat on the questions of title and compensation received for the land which has been acquired by NHAI. We are afraid as to how such like disputed questions of facts can be resolved by a writ Court. The documents on record suggest that the amount of compensation is lying in the FDRs in a nationalised bank, i.e. Punjab National Bank. The petitioners or for that matter any other proprietor, who has a dispute with the Gram Panchayat in respect of the title of the acquired land may, if so advised, approach the appropriate Forum including the Civil Court for disbursement of the adequate compensation.
