Advocate General, Punjab appears on behalf of the respondent-State, in pursuance of the advance copy of the paper book having already been supplied to him, and raises no objection to the aforesaid course of action being adopted.

Keeping in view the aforesaid submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned State counsel, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the learned Collector, Barnala, to decide the remanded case by way of passing a speaking order within a period of four months from today, after affording due opportunity of hearing to all concerned parties. It is further directed that until the remanded case is finally decided by the learned Collector, Barnala, the petitioner shall continue to discharge the functions of Lambardar of Village Chananwal, Tehsil and District Barnala.

It is made clear that the learned Collector, Barnala, shall decide the remanded case strictly on its own merits, without being influenced either by any observation made in this order or by the fact that the petitioner has been permitted by this Court to discharge the functions of Lambardar. 6.
