Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that both the petitioners are of marriageable age and have married each other of their free will and consent but against the wishes of the respondents No. 3 to 12 because of which the said respondents are now threatening life and liberty of the petitioners; and that representation Annexure P-4 dated 27.05.2026 of the petitioners moved before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala has till date not been decided.

Without commenting anything upon the validity or otherwise of the alleged marriage of the petitioners and also upon merits of the petition in question, since the petitioners apprehend danger to their life and liberty from the respondents No.3 to 12, the present petition, at this stage, is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to look into the representation Annexure P-4 and if the need be, ensure protection of life and liberty of the petitioners.
