Present writ petition has been filed for directing respondents No.2 to 5 to take action against respondent No.7 and others for having embezzled a huge amount of the funds of the Gram Panchayat as per enquiry report dated 28.01.2015 (Annexure P-4) and further representations made by the petitioners dated 05.05.2015, order passed by this Court dated 29.04.2016 (Annexure P-6) and fresh representations dated 19.07.2016 (Annexure P-7) and dated 08.01.2018 (Annexure P-8) for taking action against respondents No.7 and others have failed to wake up the official respondents from slumber for recovering embezzled amount from respondent No.7 and for taking action against him and other persons involved in the same as per the provisions of law. After issuance of notice of motion, the respondents have filed their respective replies.

Learned State counsel has submitted that recovery of Rs.1,21,788/- has already been effected and thus, the action has been taken as per the statutory provisions of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.

In view of the submissions made by learned State counsel, the present petition is disposed of. However, the petitioners would be at liberty to avail the alternative remedies as available to them in accordance with law in case any further cause of action accrues.    7)8        !"#  $#
