Karnail Kaur v. State Of Punjab And Others
2024:PHHC:017141
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB & HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH
Sr. No.220 CWP-20366-2020 Date of decision : 07.02.2024 Karnail Kaur ..... Petitioner
VERSUS
State of Punjab and others ..... Respondents CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE AMAN CHAUDHARY
Present:
Mr. Nitesh Singla, Advocate, for the petitioner. Mr. R.K. Kapoor, Addl. AG, Punjab.
***** AMAN CHAUDHARY, J. (Oral) 1.
The petitioner has preferred the present Civil Writ Petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to step up her pay at par with her junior-respondent No.3. The learned counsel would contend that the relief is not being granted to the petitioner, on account of fact that the final seniority list has not been finalized till date, despite there being specific direction in that regard in another petition, CWP-28434-2019 titled as Harbhajan Singh and others. vs. State of Punjab and others, decided on 15.02.2023. 2.
Learned State counsel, on instructions from Ms. Shashi Garg, Asstt. Registrar, Legal, submits that the State is in the process of finalizing the seniority list and the same shall take some more time.
