Through instant petition preferred under Article 227 of the Constitution of India, petitioners have sought issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the official respondents to consider and decide the pending claim of petitioners especially legal notice (P-8) for revision of pensionary benefits/pay along with arrears, by notionally promoting them w.e.f. the date of promotion of juniors, in terms of Punjab Roadways (Operational) State Service Class III (First Amendment) Rules, 2000 and for grant of any consequential relief in terms thereof.

At the very outset of the arguments, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners feel satisfied in case direction is given to respondent No.2, to decide the legal notice dated 14.03.2018 (Annexure P-8), within a stipulated period.

Accordingly, instant petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent No.2-Director, State Transport, Punjab, Jeevandeep Building, Sector 17-A, Chandigarh, to look into the grievances unfolded by the petitioners in their legal notice dated 14.03.2018 (Annexure P-8) and take a conscious decision, in accordance with Rules and Regulations as well as various instructions issued from time to time, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 4.
However, in case, the petitioners still feel aggrieved of the order passed by concerned authority, they shall be at liberty to have recourse to the remedies available under law or to approach this Court.
