Mr. Mohit Jaggi, Advocate for the petitioner. *** G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioner's grouse is that his complete retiral dues have not been paid. Thus, interest is also sought on the delayed payments apart from the grant of benefit of proficiency step up of 4, 9 and 14 years of service under the Assured Career Progression Scheme. It is case of the petitioner that he joined as Clerk on 12.1.1978. Thereafter he retired as Senior Assistant on 31.12.011. On account of representation made, some of the retiral dues were paid. Thereafter, he served a legal notice dated 11.2.2015 (Annexure P/6) but no action is being taken.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that details have been mentioned in the said legal notice and he would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondent no.2 to decide the legal notice dated 11.2.2015 (Annexure P/6) within some fixed time frame. Notice of motion.

Mr. R.S.Sidhu, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents. Copy of the writ petition has been supplied to him.

Accordingly, without commenting upon the merits of the case and entitlement of the petitioner, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no.2 to decide the said legal notice dated 11.2.2015 (Annexure P/6) and pass an appropriate order in accordance with law within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. In case the petitioner is found entitled for the said benefit, the financial benefits be paid to him within two months thereafter. In case any adverse order is to be passed then a reasoned order be passed by the said respondent and be conveyed to the petitioner. The present writ petition is disposed off with the aforesaid directions.
