This matter is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing due to the outbreak of pandemic, COVID-19. Grievence of the petitioner, who is an eighty three (83) year old widow of Gian Singh, an employee of the respondents, is that revised Family Pension as well as revised Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity, which is due to the petitioner, is not being released. It is submitted that petitioner's son had raised a dispute, claiming to be entitled to pension of Gian Singh, however, his claim has been rejected vide order dated 13.08.2020 (Annexure P-10) and it is the petitioner, who is entitled to pension/pensionary benefits. Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from Rajinder Kaur, DEO, Secondary Education, Ludhiana, confirms that petitioner is entitled to the said retiral benefits and it is submitted that the matter is being finalized and amount due to the petitioner is likely to be released within three weeks. CWP-21511-2020 (O&M) In view of the specific statement of learned counsel for the State, no further orders are called for in this petition, which is rendered infructuous.
Writ petition is disposed of as infructuous. Amount due to the petitioner be released positively within three weeks. Needless to say, in case, there is any discrepancy in the amount released, it is always open to the petitioner to represent to the authorities in this respect.
