Through the instant petition, under Section 482 Cr.P.C., prayer is made for direction to respondent-State to order an independent inquiry into the whole matter, and to take appropriate action in case FIR No.257 dated 01.10.2018 (Annexure P-2), under Sections 328/498-A/406 of IPC, registered at Police Station City Sangrur.

At the very outset, learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Kulwinder Singh submits that the present petition has become infructuous, as the trial in the FIR (supra), has been concluded, and the accused has been acquitted. 3.
In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioner wishes to withdraw the instant petition, and seeks a liberty to avail the alternative remedy, as available to him under the law.
