Mr. Navdeep Chhabra, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab. **** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) In the present writ petition, the grievance of the petitioner is for the release of the pensionary benefits for which he became entitled for after he retired on 31.03.2017.

Learned counsel for the petitioner very fairly states that keeping in view the reply filed on behalf of the respondents, the benefits for which the petitioner was entitled for after the retirement, have been released, but the same have been released after a delay and therefore, the petitioner also become entitled for the grant of interest on the delayed payments.

CWP-27902-2017 -2counsel for the respondents states that the petitioner was granted retrospective promotion, which promotion was sought to be withdrawn on issuance of notice dated 12.10.2015 and the petitioner has impugned the said show-cause notice in CWP-2802-2016, wherein, the operation of the said notice has been stayed and keeping in view the said fact, the payments, which were made to the petitioner, have been delayed. Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of this case, the question of grant of interest, petitioner is granted liberty to agitate his claim after the decision in CWP-2802-2016. With regard to the release of the pensionary benefits, the present writ petition has already been rendered infructuous and the same is being disposed of as such.
